    Mouse in my Disco

The other day I turned my air con fan on to high and the vibration was so bad I thought that the fan was going to jump out from under dash. It was ok on speed one and two. As I was away on holidays I decided to look into it when I get home.

A couple of days later I started to get a smell in the cabin. I then suspected that there was a dead mouse in my fan. So I pulled it out and bingo, a dead mouse.

I am very thankful as to how easy it was to remove, took all of ten minutes, very unusual for a Landrover. On a lot of vehicles this would be a complete dash removal.

    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Ok. I had the same problem but it was not a mouse!!! It turned out to be insulating material that had some how fallen into the blower fan causing a horrendous vibration. And yes agreed, the unit was very easy to remove/refit.

Just before Christmas a customer brought me a GMC Jimmy.
    Heater/AC not working.

She also said in passing that she had a pound and half of Hersey kisses in car and they had been eaten by her kids in the garage. Found out a family of these little "Topolinos" had set up shop in her heating system and it was full of melted chocolate and slivers wrappers--but no fat mice--had abandoned ship!

Had to rip the whole system out and clean the deposits--- all of it!
    Not nice!
And we have Hantavirus here with local rodents; it can be fatal to humans if ingested in the lungs.
    Cheers Dennis
