Take it back to the dealer, I did 80k in mine before I got the RAI installed and the cover never fell off and I am sure I am not the only one.
That is just not on, I know they squeak and rattle but these things should not happen.
cheers.
hi guys,
i'm new, so humour me please
i have a 1 week old defender 110 wagon
the plastic air vent over the air intake has fallen off after 1 road trip
it looks like the 5 plastic 'pins' that hold it in place, have all failed, leaving half the pin still in each little hole
i think the part number is BTR6188
is it simply a matter of:
a) pushing the broken pins through and discarding them
b) getting a new vent
c) and pushing it into place??
disappointing after 1 week! seems like weak plastic pins?!
any tips would be appreciated
thanks in advance
evan

I've also got a 2012 110, I haven't had the same problem you've had. However theres a bloke out my way in Windsor NSW who makes a nice aluminium billet replacement. He also makes quite a few other cool bits for Defenders. Not sure if I should advertise here but his name is Twin Engineering. Worth a try if you want some cool bling.
Dave
It's a warranty issue.
Just replace it with a Raised air intake.
Never have to worry again.![]()
