shaun pollock who played for south africa maybe ?
G'day All,
Here is a question for the cricket buffs on the forum - back around 2006 there were three cricketers on the team being Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and I think a bloke a name that on a transcript sounds like a bowler named Pollack?
I did not transcribe the interview and I have been doing a number of searches and I cannot come up with the bloke's name.
Is "Pollack" spelled incorrectly and what is his first name, what type/pace bowler was he?
The reference to him being on the team could refer to sometime before 2006 but I presume he was still well regarded.
This is how the three members of the team were referred to by the person who was interviewed... Yes it is someone else's opinion not mine so I do not want to risk people offense....
Kind Regards
Lionel
I’m sitting there working out the game plan all the time! And the cricket, I’ll be sitting there watching.. and I love watching a few of the bowlers bowl, like Pollack and Glen McGrath, Shane Warne because they’re real thinkers. You’re actually thinking, like “oh he’ll bowl the flipper soon”. You know you’re trying to predict, he’s trying to get the batsman in a situation where he’s setting him up. Yeah that’s… I must use a lot of energy thinking when I’m watching sport, that’s what I’m doing all the time.

Thanks Landy Smurf,
You are right I found this information which suggests he was on the South African team which played Australia during a cricket test 2005/06.
Shaun Maclean Pollock Bowling: Right-arm fast-medium ... ICC World XI (ODI: 2005/06)
I assumed - incorrectly that it was an Aussie bowler being mentioned. The time frame matches though. It also explains why I could not find his name on the Aussie team - Doh!
Kind Regards
Lionel
