    Body Shop in Brisbane S/E

    Classic tale this...

I'm rushing the missus to hospital this morning for the birth of our third and scuffed the rear wheel arch of the new D4 on a pole

Can anyone recommend a good body shop in Brisbanes South East. Happy to travel further for a good-un.

(Still waiting for baby to arrive

Our insurance has sent us to Dick Porter Body Works at West End a couple of times. They did a good job both times, although it was nothing major - a replaced door on our Defender and a replaced side mirror on our Tiggy. The Defender door had a small problem with the locking mechanism after I picked it up - took it straight back and they fixed it on the spot. So they seemed pretty good to deal with, although as I say it was only a couple of fairly small jobs - no panel straightening or anything like that.

The land rover site has a list of approved panel repairers. Gabba Collison Repair Centre may be the one you want.

I have had need to use the The Bump Shop. Found them very good and the owner has LR's too!

hope all goes/went well with new bub...

As for your LR baby I got a recommendation from this forum for Hadwens for repairs to wife's 'pristine' Astra (some so&so backed a truck onto the bonnet while it was parked, then drove away...). They did a brilliant repair job. Full accreditation/recommendation/preferred workshop etc etc for major insurers

    Body Shop in Brisbane S/E

    Thanks all for the recommendations.

The end of this story is as comical as the start. When it was time to take our wonderful new addition home (baby boy #3, not LR!) I was able to have a proper look at the car. I immediately noticed a few things.

    1. The scuffing was confined to the wheel arches and appeared superficial
    2. It looked to be mostly just paint from the pole I hit
    3. The wheel arches on the D4 are plastic and thankfully absorbed all of the impact

I attacked the scuffing/paint with some Brasso and a Micro fibre cloth and now you'd never know it had happened.

All in all a great day!

"All's well that ends well" good to hear. Ah well, when you're walking the floor with him at 2 am after his feed, you can take him outside and show him the finer points of automobile design!
