Sometimes life has a habit of reminding you......

    .......how good it is.

I thought I'd better close this thread off.

Yesterday marked what we hope was the end of a really lousy year for us.

It was a simple day at the beach with my lovely family, a trip down to Byron Bay for a wander around, a picnic in the park, and a celebratory meal in the evening.

"So what?" I hear you cry, "we do that every weekend".

Well on top of the back injury that started this thread off back in Feb, my wife was attacked by our neighbour's Rottweilers in July, leading to a hospital stay and surgery for her, my daughter suffered a head injury in early August, which lead to a fair bit of time off school in her final year, and finally I had a diagnosis of pelvic damage related to the original back injury to explain why I still frequently was losing the feeling in my foot (treatment now nearly complete).

So a simple day at the beach for the four of us represented a major milestone - my wife able to walk without too much difficulty, my daughter finally able to finish her learner logbook so that she can go for her Ps in a few weeks, and me able to sit, walk and get around without being in a lot of pain. We were also able to celebrate my daughter's guaranteed early acceptance into Griffith Uni to study her subject of choice, a huge win considering the pressure we've had as a family this year.

A simple day at the beach, under beautiful blue skies, great company and a good feed at the end of it. Life is good.

We take to often the simple things for granted and they are among the best experiences in our life.
I am glad that all it is going on rails for you.

Excellent work mate, as Chucaro says, we often take the simple things for granted.
Congratulations to you and your family.
