    trailer tents

    Good day all
I am working at a trailer building place in sunshine vic for now so i am going to make a camper trailer for myself. The hard part is finding a good trailer tent for 1500 to 2000. Im not made of money so if theres going to be a good time its now. I had been looking at the gordigear ones only for the two year warranty. Anyone got one or can give me a point in the right way. Lots of crap around. Thanks for your input

Dont confuse cheap with crap! thats like saying its good because its expensive![or because i paid to much!] I have a chinese camper tent that was buy it now for $1595 or keep playing the auction game and i eventually got it for $770, every body that has seen it is impressed, it works well and doesnt leak and is heavy canvas. It drops on my work trailer and is held on with 4 bolts. Very happy

Do you have any photos of your tent set up mate? I'd like to build a camper trailer eventually so I'm very interested in seeing as many tents and ideas as I can so I can get an idea of what would work best for me.

I've often thought of having my rooftop tent, it's large- a 2m tent, interchangeable between being on the Defender or mounted on a ladder rack system on a trailer. The ladder racks also being removable so it can be a plain trailer when required.

I'll put a vote in for the gordigear one.. their stuff is top quality but not over the top expensive. I've been to their place on the Gold Coast and have bought awnings for both the cars and an awning tent.. the guy who runs it is honest to a fault and prides himself on good old fashioned service and quality products.

    Sort of.
My tent is the more traditional flip over type and I envisaged having it much higher (slightly lower than currently on Defender to ease opening and closing without having to climb up on roof rack) so that the trailer becomes a useful area that would be covered somewhat by tent when open. the stabiliser legs are a must.

I have made a rack over the gal cage on my 4 x 7 off road trailer. This allows me to load the Quad bike in, and set up camp, and explore with the Defender.

Also good to catch a breeze up here in the tropics, along with staying away from the big lizards.

    Cheers,

    Ken
