Bought heaps of electronic stuff from Aldi, know of many friends that do as well. Reliability has never been an issue, just as reliable as many name brand stuff that fails from time to time. Return and warranty policy is excellent (once you can get a staff member to do it for you).
I've not had much luck with anything with electronics from Aldi in the past: I bought a PVR which died after 3 weeks and the replacement lasted about the same amount of time. The night vision goggles were fantastic when they worked which was for no more than 3 minutes at a time once a month. The protable DVD player I got hasn't had much use yet but I don't expect it to last.
However, my Aldi winch was fantastic and the plasma ball is stillgoing too!
I bought one of the meat slicers too, it went back the next week....
Most other stuff I've bought out performs what you would expect for the purchase price, including my winch which did multiple recoveries of a 6 ton tractor last winter with the aid of a snatch block.

Not electronics, but after reading the many eulogies on the ALDI air compressors on this site I went and bought one. The previous "heavy duty" compressor that I had from Superc___p had given up the ghost with a sheared conrod and the supplier couldn't source a replacement.
It looked the goods, but into the first minute of the first use the air hose blew apart at the clamp.............
I must say that they were pretty good about replacing the broken part. Whether it lasts is yet to be determined since I haven't used it yet.
Pay the money and take your chances.

I'm weary about what I buy and how ofter I use it, I have a shed Compressor which does not get used very often and the big 12 volt Compressor for the disco which gets used every now and then.
I have nothing to complain about.
havent had a problem with any of the gear I get from them, I dont touch their electrical power tools, (SWMBO has one of their air compressors and its doing the job)
I havent had any issues returning any of the gear Ive needed to (wrong colour in packaging, cracked items from mis handling, non charging batteries in cordless stuff, incomplete packaged gear all of which was exchanged on the spot or refunded when they didnt have what I wanted)
I've even taken to recommending their all in one pc/tv units to people who want cheap but effective computers for simple internet,wordprocessing type work.
Bout the best thing IVe bought from them was the long reach inxhex/torqz bits or the work lights, or the winch, or the recovery kit, or the battery charger, or the pop up laundry/garden bags, or SWMBO's compressor, mind you I cant discount the ratchet action garden shears, the click to heat packs, their cold weather jackets and boots, the security bit driver kits been great as well, although I think their AV repeater kit has been worth its weight and the hdmi and media cable packs are great. Probably the most used thing has been the trampoline I got for Alex but that would be close run to the streams of zipties from their multi packs, Alex's bike did well and the couple I put together for friends are still giving good service. Swmbos tablet now plugs into one of their flat screen TV;s as a monitor and thats working well, I've got who knows how many of their 8/16gb usb/sd/microSD cards doing service the cookwares damn good for the price pulling duty in the house until it gets a bit beat up where it gets put into camping gear...
The foods not bad either for the price.

I've given the 9500lb winch a fair workout over the last 12 months & so far so good although the wireless remote gave up the ghost after a month or two. I've pulled a 20 seater bus off the road (uphill), got myself unstuck at Inskip when the blokes in front & behind me got stuck & I had to stop. I use it mainly for snigging logs up inclines where I cant get the tractor & although not a heavy load, it's done a few hours. Also bought a Bluetooth hands free a few years ago & still good.
My winch has never failed me in the 12 months I've had it. I hope it remains as reliable once I take it out of the front room and fit it to my Rangie...:D
