I must be getting old , bombarded with insurance for funerals ads on TV

It seems to me there are more and more funeral insurances being flogged one after the other on TV these days. .

It’s never too early/too late to secure your future for your family and your retirement.

It’s just a quick call and there’s absolutely no commitment for you to buy.

    Umm Not worth

Not sure if you know this but the Telly is for general consumption , not just for you

If anyone sees Not worth I suggest you avoid eye contact and back away slowly.

It would be interesting to know if in the forum is a funeral director to give us an opinion about this insurance policies.
I heard that they are a rip off and that it is much better to have a life insurance with a premium to cover the funeral expenses.

An old fellow was on his deathbed and hadn’t long to go. He suddenly smelled the aroma of newly baked apple tart. With his last bit of energy he pulled himself out of bed. As he makes his way into the kitchen he found his wife rolling pastry for a new batch of pies. He reached over for one of the freshly baked ones. With a snarl his wife roared “Leave them alone. They’re for the funeral.”

I have also notced these ads. I am between jobs at the moment. So about mid afternoon I might flick the tv on. Then there is a constant bombardment of these ads.

The trouble with funeral parlors is they want money straight away, and sort of push the issue.
When we lost my mother inlaw, Heritage funerals were good, no pushing for upfront money, we explained that it will take a few weeks for funds to come through and they were great non pushy.

Oh About pushy, I was being put under for a colonoscopy and as the aneth' was injecting me as I was falleing asleep he whispered " I like my accounts paid promptly" . I thought that was a bit rude at that time

I had an experience with a call centre lady who rang to try and sell me funeral insurance. During the conversation she eventually said to me "you're one of the few who have worked out that these things are a scam".
