A mate was given a new Rangie yesterday to test drive overnight so we all piled in and headed out to Red Hill (north east boondocks of Perth) to see Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds live in a quarry.
I didn't get to drive but I'm told it feels much lighter and easier to drive. The previous model is grunty but this one adds more agility to to the mix. There is none of that hesitation before the plentiful power comes on that some D4 owners complain about (and my mate says his MY2010 FFRR has to a minor extent)
I loved the squishy head rest and I really like the layout of the centre console. Piano gloss and really smooth and neat. Awesome car and and anyone who can afford one need consider nothing else. It appears though the LR Australia are playing their usual games with specifications. You can't get a "basic" V8. You want an 8 you buy a whole lot of things you might not want for a lot of money.
Nick Cave was also brilliant. Fans should not miss this tour. Great new songs, band super tight. He was fit happy and really engaged with the crows. Great versions of Jack The Ripper, The Mercy Seat and Stagger Lee.
Cheers
Glad you enjoyed the ride... and the concert!
It's interesting to note LRA's approach to pricing and options... at 2 to 2 1/2 times the UK price and the US price, luxury car tax notwithstanding, the new prices are bordering on silly. Am wondering why the consumer pricing gurus who are so critical of electronics companies for differential pricing on computers/software etc don't put the spotlight on automotive products![]()
