Happy Days!!![]()
So......... one way or another, I managed to soak with water the cardboard box that contained a set of springs I bought some years ago and I just haven't had to use them yet.
I thought I'd best repack them and on opening the box I find it full of wiring spiral wrap which appears to have been used as packing, score one.
On removal of the springs from the box I find an adjustable A-frame ball joint, brand new still in the bagscore 2 !!
Cheered me up all day.

The cable wrap isnt yellow is it? You can actually get the stuff for wrapping coil springs.... God alone knows why....
isn't it to reduce noise when/if the coils compress
would only be noise if the coils end up touching each other..... in which case noise is the least of your issues
helps alleviate abrasion and damage from rocks.
Good job to give to appies when a customer wants it fitted after the springs are in.

its sort of white to translucent, somehow I can't see myself wrapping coils in plastic. Its a bit like putting glad wrap on your tyres![]()
It is probably packing to prevent the paint chipping in transit from manufacturer to point of sale
