Talking Recommended Mechanic Required West of Brisbane

    Hi

Newbie here so I've probably put this thread in the wrong section or bound to have done something wrong

I'm based in Karalee, Ipswich, QLD, I bought a new Defender 90 (2011) a year back from the dealer in Brisbane Valley, unfortunately I tried a number of times to get them to book a service but had no luck, they are either unbelievably busy or incompetent, either way I don't really want to be taking my truck there.

I got a service done at MR Automotive which was good but they're on the other side of town and I practically have to take a day out of work to get there, besides they are incredibly busy and you have to book too far ahead..

Has anyone got anyone west of Brisbane that they use for straight servicing or additional work??

Likewise I'm after a tow bar setup, if anyone's got any info on that, that would be awesome.

    cheers

    Stu

    Hi Stu,

I use SBL automotive at Acacia Ridge, sort of south west . Happy with their service though they are not a large company. Also the dealers have a service dept at Wooloongabba that you may get better service from than the main service centre in the valley and it is a little closer to you.

    Cheers,

Valley dealership are always busy, though easier to get a quick service done than MR Auto, (even though new to LR's been going to MR for years for Mini parts) Mr would be my personal choice though. I'm not sure hwy you are having such issues getting a service with the valley dealership I called last Friday, had my car booked in fro the following Wednesday. . . same deal with its last service, and with the recalls and warranty jobs its been in for.

I'm on the Northside so Mr is nice and close and sorry cant help on the West side, but If I were you id still think it worth while the trek to MR.

Try Blue Ribbon on Warwick Road, they were LR dealers and I think they still have a good service manager called Neil Wallace who knows LR inside out.
