As long as you enjoy being cold and wet, and in the case of the Eastern Tasmania Archipelago, the world's worst beer.

Wages here are rubbish and unemployment is growing...if you have a decent job life is great, if you are unemployed it's better here than up there...but a very big portion of our job market is low paid often casual work and then life isn't so good....and with it shifting ever more that way that is why so many are leaving.

And as for beer.......there are quite a few bottle shops that stock Coopers so I'm ok there!

Reading my diary listing today I was surprised at how many more holidays they have in Tassie and NZ compared with other states and territories (yes, I know NZ isn't a state, but you know what I mean).

Australia has nine national holidays and NZ has 7. To them have to be added the local holidays for each state, territory or NZ. According to my diary the totals are:

    NZ 7 + 14 =21
    Tasmania 9 + 8 = 17
    ACT and SA 9 + 4 = 13
    WA 9 + 3 = 12
    NSW, Victoria, NT and Queensland 9 +2 = 11

So, it's obvious - if you want time off, move to NZ or Tasmania.
I think you might be adding all the NZ regional holidays together. But you only get one a year for the region you live in.

The NZ'er's moving to Queensland are the ones we don't want.

Well , I believe the drought in NZ would harden up the Kiwis coming here, at least, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

You'll get sick of Wellington pretty quick though. Really windy and sea on three sides.
Did I mention the bureaucrats? That city is full of public servants.

Can be that the Kiwis find at home in Qld because the queenslanders are very similar to them?
