Urgent help required: stuck at Lithgow

Thought I'd throw this out to forum members to see if we can get any help. One of the crew has just thrown an idler pulley bearing on his V8 Disco 2. We are towing him from the Lost City back into Lithgow now and need to locate a replacement idler pulley with the bearing in it. Call Jamie on 0410331001 if you can help out with a part in the Lithgow area.

If it's the same one as the GEMS V8, I have the old one I took off mine, cleaned and regreased to be used as a spare.

Does anyone have MicroCat loaded and could check?

If I don't have any more to drink tonight, I could get it onto a train to Katoomba Signal Box, maybe even Mt Victoria Signal Box (I don't know anyone at Lithgow box).

The dimensions sound the same so they are on their way here to collect it. I hope it's right!

Kevin and Jamie are on their way back to Lithgow.

Kev's pulley was the steel pulley but it appears to be the same size as my plastic one. We're hoping it will get them out of trouble. Kev's engine originally had the plastic pulley.

I'm a bit annoyed at them for leaving two bottles of very good Shiraz behind.

Very much appreciated but completely unnecessary - all you had to do was post it back when you got yours.

    Thank you very much.

    Good for you , mate.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Just got back from Newnes with Kev and Jamie, and yes, he is mobile as the part fit......but as soon as it was fitted the t-piece in his radiator pipes let go so after a couple of failed goes they got back to camp at 3am. The next morning a trip was organized back into Lithgow was organized with absolutely nobody in town ale to help. Luckily we had met a couple of days before a land rover nut who had been driving around in his newly acquired ex-army unimog out in the bush who was extremely kind enough to supply some materials and the use of some tools to get Kev going again.
A bit stressful on Kevs wife, but a good weekend was had by all of the Misadventure Crew and thanks once again to ll on Aulro who were able to help.
I'm sure that Jamie will eventually put some of the highlights onto youtube in the coming weeks!

A huge thank you to P38arover for helping us out on Saturday night.

While we had lot's of other dramas we needed to solve to get Kev back on the road, the crucial part we couldn't get elsewhere over the Easter weekend was exactly the one you supplied. had you not got in touch, I think he'd still be there ;-)

Thanks also to fellow Landy junkie Adrian from Lidsdale who helped us Macgyver a solution for the broken t-junction.

My pleasure. Now you'll have to come back to help drink the wine!

Thank you very much for all of your assistance Ron.
I have a full set of idlers and tensioner on the way. I will send the tensioner back as soon as the new ones arrive.
Sorry we could not stay and chat a bit longer but I wanted to get back and get Drover on the road. Murphy's rule, didn't happen.
But thanks to another Land Rover owner near Lithgow, Adrian, we were able to manufacture a new Tee piece from rural irrigation parts and some smaller hoses.

    Kind Regards
    Kev
