If you choose Granite, get stabalised, it has cement powder mixed with it, usually preped on the day and about 3 percent, get it from your local landscape supplier. If your drive is in a hill, forget it. Even stabilized will end up at the bottom. If level make sure you retain the sides, brick, Tim st etc.
    cheers

We have (I think) a granite based driveway at the farm, no prep work, just tipped out and then spread with rakes etc, that'll be after we extracted the twice bogged truck.
It's probably 100mts long, and a few holes appeared when first done, a quick fill of them, and good to go again.
It's been like that now for nearly 30 years. I'll see if I can get a pic when I'm up there next.

Another trailer load of white gravel?
I can loan you an electric concrete mixer for a couple of months if that'd help...

that pic was immediately after it was done (the stuff on the nature strip, is granite toppings from ASQ, bout $55 m3. I did it myself, just took out top layer of nature strip (which was crushed rainbow rock fines before), had the granite dumped, raked it, and whacker packed it. It has held up beautifully, is on my sloped nature strip that has cars drive over it and park (no travelling of material downwards) and on the drive next tothe concrete drive. Has done ok under water too although I need to do something with the drainage off the drive proper as it sits in a hollow beside it but doesnt cause an issue just a puddle until it dries lol

I have Tuscan topping for the driveway up the side of the house, and for the nature strip where I park the work car every night. I think it has similar characteristics to the granite, and is great. I would use it for a main driveway if needed. It has been down for years, and has only developed one small pothole where my car is parked as it is dead flat there and the water doesn't run off easily.

Hard as when compacted and settled properly.

It is about 100mm thick, and was well compacted when I put it down. Will take a pic in the morning.

Why do people link Farcebook photos?

It never works unless all parties are:
    - Friends
    - Logged into Farcebook
    - Allow Browser Cookies

    PEOPLE link facebook photos when it is too dark to go out and take fresh images and when their facebook gives the following message;
You can use this link to share this photo with anyone, even if they don't have a Facebook account. Anyone with the link will be able to see your photo.
which to my limited intelligence indicated that they do NOT need to be a friend on fb nor even hold an account and people are not responsible to psychically know the cookie state of anyone who tries to view them? Thought it was worth a shot, my sincere apologies that I was incorrect.

thats the stuff without whackerackering (really recommend doing the full job though, I just ran out of money that week). Does NOT stand up well to psycho dog cutting laps

thats it on the front nature strip after whackerpackering. WIll get better pic tomorrow of the job several months later. Id have loved the warmer pretty tones of tuscan topping etc, but it was far more expensive )more than double price I think but gorgeous colour). Down the road from me has something like that I think; but they should have packed it down for a better finish, it is firm to step on but has ruts from when driven on because not packed down properly
