    Sub-£18K mini LR

This was linked to in a story on the AULRO news feed.

    http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/ne...£18k-baby-suv

The images are an Autocar interpretation not an official LR design.

Autocar are suggesting that it would be shorter than an Evoque and priced below the Freelander.

This is the sort of vehicle has been mentioned previously in things like the supposed "16 model" range that was leaked last year. The motoring press had been speculating that the DC100 would morph into a new sub-Freelander product, so you'd have to imagine the final product would take some cues from that design exercise.

If they manage to pull off a competent off-roader with DC100 inspired styling for that price it would be hard to imagine it failing to sell well.

If nothing else it's an interesting idea.

    cheers
    Paul

Some of the articles on LR ideas that have been posted on here lately have been far from something I would support, but this is a great idea. I like it.

Can't see it being anything but a on-road softy.
FWD in base models and shared platform with Jag and Cherry supports that theory.

I'd be pretty very surprised if the LR badge was attached to anything that was on-road only. But time will tell.
