    That's my normal waving method.
And hey, I told that teacher lady "Looky here lady, the only letters I need to know are U, S, and A"

mmm quick round trip to the other town over the hill. 2 Rangies - 0 wave or even eyeball. 1 wave reciprocating with another puma. 1 D2 - 0 wave or eyeball contact from other driver. 1 wave from a Ford ute driver. (His other car must be deefa or maybe he was waving because of the Ford transit-like Puma...)

When driving the Series all models (even those which aren't new enough to have a green oval ) get a wave with enthusiasm increasing for Defenders the older they get and reaching fever pitch on the odd occasion I'm lucky enough to see another Series on the road.

When driving anything else Defenders and of course Series still get waved at. Normally get a good response from Defender drivers but it's hit and miss with the rest.

If I really want waves it's a matter of taking the roof off and driving around Melbourne. Got a few extremely enthusiastic waves from different makes, started a number of conversations at traffic lights but the best was on the way down to Melbourne driving with no roof in the rain, a chap stuck his head out of an overtaking Magna with a big grin giving me the thumbs up and a friendly toot from the driver

I travel regularly to Thredbo and always get waved heading that way as well, including from someone driving a Series 1 in Cooma who I have seen a couple of times.

Your lucky I rarely get a wave from fellow deafener drivers here but most seem to be hipsters with little or no idea

I wave and usually get waved back from the green oval - and I have a star badge!
Series and Defenders, not sure if they always know what they are waving back to (1988 G-wagen)
But I also share a wave with old G60 Patrols, FJ40's, Scats, Sierras, etc...
Just and old and special fourby thing for me - we are all enthusiasts.

When I do a road trip, Brisbane to Roma, Condamine to Sydney, Brisbane to Rockhampton, I wave at every Land Rover I see. (pointer finger or two off the steering wheel style). Generally everyone waves in the regional areas.

Most recently I travelled from Rockhampton to Airlie Beach and when passing (overtaking) a red Defender I gave them the wave, the horn and a cheesy grin. Not even sure if they knew what day of the week it was but I had a good laugh.

Yes my wife thinks it's strange which makes it even more amusing.

Getting a return wave can be pretty rare on the coastal trips and they come from all sorts. (D1, Defenders, RRS)

I generally don't wave in the cities unless someone waves first.

What is looking disappointing are the number of drivers who only wave at their own make . Don't believe this is in the spirit of owning a Land Rover. One in, all in.

    Regards

Just got back from a 7000km trip around central Oz. and waved to all makes with only 2 return waves from 35. Very disappointing.

I wave to all Landie's I see on the Bruce around Rocky and get a surprise every now and then when I get a wave back as I am in a hire vehicle. Only Defenders seem to wave back.
