I have been many times to the Middle East and share your pain for the lost on both sides of the argument. I also do not wish to see my family in another war for survival brought about by those who are unwilling to discuss a peaceful resolution to the on going conflict in the region. I feel a chance was lost when Rabin was shot and during his burial, when Assad's father attended the funeral. I do in all sincerity hope that the conflict in all areas of the Middle East bring about a lasting peace but radicals on all sides make this very unlikely. The Middle East is probably one of the most interesting and historically significant and beautiful regions on Earth, but few will ever witness it. My wife's great grandfather is buried in Haifa, part of the UK/Australian cavalry charge at the wells of BetSheva during WW1, we were the first to visit his grave since 1917. No on else in the family would go because of the perceived danger in the region.
