    City Lowlifes

I just got a phonecall from SGIO insurance that reminded me why I moved out of the city.
They wanted to know if I would authorise my son making a claim.
I asked if he had been involved in an accident,no break/entry.Spoke to Lindsay, some lowlife busted a window went thru the glovebox console and first aid kit.Only stole his girlfriends glases, even left his Tom Tom behind.
Bring back Capital Punishment I say.

Ouch! Not nice but I suppose it could have been a lot worse.

Funny but I was just speaking with SGIO on Friday. Son Andrew has finally got his P's and I put him on as a named driver for the Corolla. $60 extra on the premium but if he has a prang it saves $500 in excess. I hope he is a bit more cautious than his dad was at 18

    Cheers

We've got a security system at our place and have lost count of the times low life have walked down the drive in the night to try the Deafeners doors and the Prado before that.
I'm always careful not to leave evidence of a GPS or any other easily sold goodies in sight but they're just trying on the off chance it's not locked.
I've taken a clip off the system to a thumb drive and given them to the cops and even told them where one ****head lived (over the road) but they took no action.
Should have reported him for speeding on his treadly.

Here in Hobart the bastards do not need to see any good inside the cars, they just break in to see if there are any gold coins in the ash try
It is so bad that it is hard to get new barrels for replacing the broken ones.
IMO hard labour is the best solution, we need a canal dig from Cape York down south so give this bastards a shovel, 1 lt of water and a kilo of flour and they can star doing something useful.

You can blame the do-gooders for most of our problems today , No disciplin at shcool , turned our Police FORCE into a service , got Judges so rattled they are scared to hand down an appropriate sentence , Parents have dropped there game , Govenment has dropped National Service , etc etc etc . A bl**dy good flogin would cure a lot of our ill,s .

Hang about! Think of it from the perpetrator's point of view. (still looking for a sarcasm button.)
Firstly he didn't need the Tom Tom because he knew where he was, hence he didn't take it, and he possibly only cut himself when he broke the window of the car, hence rifling through the first aid kit.
As for the glasses, he possibly mistook the number plate of your car for another one that he knew, perhaps his mother's car where his Mum may have left the keys, or a shopping list or even her Ipad, locked in for example, and he may have taken the glasses with the good intent of not making the same mistake a second time by being more sure of which car he broke into as, with these glasses, he would have no trouble reading the numberplate.
Also there is the possibility that he had maybe suffered a tormented childhood, being abused by his parents and kin, having been made do homework, make his bed in the mornings, or wash dishes after dinner, respect other people, or even perhaps, God forbid, made to mow the lawn or assist his parents around the house! Our generation don't fully understand the harsh results of the hardships some of these unfortunate kids have been put through.
I am certain that once some of these harsh facts of this poor misunderstood member of society's traumatic childhood and upbringing have been pointed out by a well intentioned solicitor in a court of law, even the hardest of our judges will be able to fully understand his plight, and will possibly immediately take steps to change the poor unfortunate kid's whole way of life by showing leniency and mercy and simply caution him, rather than incurring a sentence which could have lasting ramifications, whilst giving him a short lecture on the errors of his judgement in this period of overwhelming stress that caused his momentary lapse of judgement, that had been placed, unjustly, on the lad by the outside world.
Sometimes I feel that the decent thing for us to do as a society in general would be perhaps to say "Sorry" to this harshly done by generation, as a public apology for all the undue stress and strain we, as parents, have forced them to endure during their, what should be, happy and carefree childhood days.
    Regards, (tongue in cheek)

Happens all too often these days. No real repercussions for it this is the problem. Even if you can identify the offenders it is unlikely anything will happen as it is regarded as a minor offence and left up to the victim and if insured the insurance companies to pick up the tab. As I have said previously there is no accountability for ones actions. I do not care the reasons, if you take someone else's property or damage it you should be charged and be given a decent sentence and fines, plus you should have to reimburse the insurance company and victim for any expenses. Our insurance premiums would also come down if this was to occur. The problem with our current system is the victims are left in the cold. Any fines or court costs go to the govt coffers.
I am sick of the attitude that the offenders are the victims as they are underprivileged and disadvantaged. That is just pure rubbish. Maybe if they were stealing food to eat, not a pair of sunglasses or other items to sell.

I installed one of these after I disturbed a guy hiding behind my car in the driveway. I think he was hiding from the cops but it gave me ( & him) a big fright.
The only time I've had a false alarm was when a cat had a fight with a young possum - sadly the possum lost badly by the time I got there)
We are not in a high crime area either !!
