NSW P plater - Prohibited Vehicles Exemption

Ahh I can see the headlines now.

My partner's 33 years of age. She's allowed to learn on the D2 V8 she bought, however, again, once she gets her P's, she's not allowed to drive it. At 33!!! THIRTY THREE!!! Apart from being well passed the age of stupidy, and a female they still wont allow it.

The V8 rule is a cop out and a load of ****!

Happily, I should be able to get her an exemption through my business. :angel:

I thought it was possible to get an exemption if you were over 25, I'd look into it if I were you.

Really? That would come in very handy!

So far all the info I've found has said no exemptions for any reason.

Isn't there an exemption if its a family car,ie registered to a parent

The parental exemption only works if that's the only car, we have two diesels, but I can't wheel them :( (did once, didn't end well for the D2 rear bar).

The 253 has 125kW, up from the Rangies 118kW, and it is a lot lighter vehicle, also the Rangie has all wheel disc brakes and constant 4WD. The 253 is also 4.2 L, up from the Rangies 3.5. I can see NO reason you shouldn't be allowed a Rover V8.

Well I picked up the car (I'll start a thread in the RR section tomorrow). And there is nothing high performance about it!!

So I guess it's either the RTA cooperate or I'll have to employ muppets idea....

I want to do I by the book though.

There is currently no age exemption for a V8.

I doubt the fight will be easy.
