I hope its not just another extended advertisement like most of these shows
In view of the controversy created on this forum by these first two topics, I might have to tune in to see what their tame "industry experts" have to say.
In this episode of 4WD ProTips we catch up with industry experts and discuss the importance of turbo timers and choosing the right battery charger. We also look at what a hydraulic bump stop does and purchasing after market lighting that is suitable to the driving you do.

Well that turned out to be even more of a waste of time than I expected.
The two featured items were just couple of minutes and of course they were right near the end.
For those who had the good sense not to tune in, the information in the program can be summarised as follows:
Turbo Timers - you don't need them around town.
Battery Chargers - the good ones are clever, but quite expensive.
There was no real effort to explain how they did their job or why they were (or were not) a good idea.
I should have known better!

Wow, so no useful information whatsoever, who'd have thought? I watched Mr 4x4, (Pat Callinan) yesterday, similar theme, infomercial of him crossing the "Simmo" in the "mighty" 3.0 Patrol. Had some speil about how they tried 3 times to cross the Simpson in "these old things", (series 2as) but they repeatedly broke half shafts. So they got a Patrol and the awesome power and strong "truck like" drive train got them safely across. (Had to wonder how they carried enough fuel though). Then he went on to say "some things never change", as they showed him in the "mighty Patrol" with the aftermarket suspension, tyres, diffs, long range tank etc... Another hour I'll never get back.![]()
you should meet him in person! I met him by accident while refuelling out in a bush servo.......that's all I'm going to say about him...........
c'mon give us more than that...
Come on don't leave us hanging![]()
Nah he has pretty much summed up all the episodes I've seen, the show quite boring if you ask me
Baz.
Cheers Baz.

After the thick speil I heard about the "awesome" patrol I felt like such an idiot crossing the Simpson in my old 130. Without incident, both times, and even more daft to be planning to cross again on the way home from the Canning in October. If I had any brains I'd buy a new Patrol and soak it in about $25000 worth of ARB stuff.
