    Terrible, terrible news

    A friend of mine was murdered in the street (at night) about 10 years ago, for no good reason. I can understand the emotions that come about in events like this.

    The one thing I took away from it was that while they may be gone, you will never forget them

    I did follow this story on the news and was saddened by it even before I read of the person being your friend and co-worker. Since reading your message it has only compounded it.

    There are those people on the earth who will do anything for anyone - because they are naturally kind and generous. Because that is their nature.

    There are other people on the earth who do everything for solely their own benefit and this is frequently at the expense of other people. Because that is their nature.

    It is a great shame that the two groups have to share the same planet.

    An 18 year old male has been arrested & charged with this most despicable attack. I can only hope they charge him with two murders, the poor woman & her unborn child, Bob

    I was just reading that on the news. And I was sickened for two reasons: 1) he's apparently 18 today. That means he was 17 when he murdered and raped a pregnant woman. 2) there was a big song and dance being made about him missing his 18th birthday. As if that's a big issue compared to a woman being deprived of life and a child not even reaching it's first birthday.

    I know it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. I really hope the police have their ducks lined up on this one, and that her friends, family, and all who knew her can get some closure.
