You are correct the Porsche was the one posted by Juddy which is the base model Panamera which only accelerates to 100km/h in a leisurely 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 259km/h.
Not in the same league that the Ferrari, Lambo, etc.

The police spec BMW's are probably faster, cheaper, handle better and cost less to run.

    Holden Caprice Police car exports

GMH are not doing too badly with their Caprice in the US, the Middle East and Asia. The PPV (Police Patrol Vehicle) might have a chance in Australia now as well.

Yeah, we were talking about these the other night at work. Everyone agreed how much better they'd be than the current crop of 4 & 6 cylinder slugs. The issue is that our fleets seem to revolve around getting as much coin for the resale as possible, which would probably be only thing that rules them out.

The Germans have the MB Brabus CLS Rocket in their fleet but I do not think that it is cheap.
With 730 twin-turbocharged horses stampeding under its hood, the Rocket lives up to its moniker with a 225.19 mph top speed is going to be a nice vehicle for the road between Liverpool in NSW to Canberra

Not with the name Brabus - the girls in the cars would never hear the end of it

My dear departed Father-in-Law was once pulled up for speeding, in the UK. The pursuit vehicle was a 30" police issue bicycle. Maybe we could start an AULRO fundraiser to so equip Digger, Treads, Mudmouse and their co-workers.

Taking that a little further Ian, when I was in Thailand a little while back, I saw two officers travelling together on a tandem version of the above. They were in hot pursuit of a felon in a "seedy" area of town (I was only there for a look ).

I haven't yet managed to figure out how they were going to transport the felon back to the lock-up if they caught him.
    Cheers .........

If 'Heartbeat' is reasonably accurate the coppers used to transport villains on the back of a motorbike, sans helmet. Imagine that happening today.
