i crossed another item off my bucket list by going to the Indy 500 this year.

Chevrolet are the major sponsor and had a decent display. All models of Corvette including the next one. A range of optional higher performance engines, GM Performance Parts after-market engines. The supercharged and intercooled one used in the Cadillac ATS is interesting as is the higher output non-complying aftermarket version. Only one big block on show, lots of horsepower and about $17,000. An intriguing exhibit had a small sign simply saying RO7 Nascar engine. No specifications given, high duty iron block and VERY special aluminium heads. Apparently the teams assemble and blueprint them in-house. CNC porting is an option on all after-market engines.

The local Corvette club had a display on the preceding Tuesday. They were attempting to show "A Mile of Corvettes". They were over a half-mile and still coming in when I left to find a bar.
