    td5 boost

    I'm trying to find out how much boost is to much. Just put a boost gauge in and it reads 27lb,I do have a chip,intercooler,egr blank,on my td5.Is the amount of boost to high? Gavin

    Mine is chipped and peaks at 18psi.Yours should go well,but for how long?

    In a word, "yes"!!. You need to back the wastegate off, i.e. wind the nut toward the back of the engine, until you get a good 18-20 psi on a WOT. Have you got an overboost box? You realy need one if you don't. Gee, it must have gone like a scalded cat on 27!!!!.

    Yes I have a boost box,does go hard. I've done about 3000 ks since the work,mostly towing between 3 & 4 tonn. I was wondering if I'm doing any damage

    Where is your boost gauge plumbed in?

    First gauge was a cheap eBay one,that read 35, new one is a autometre one
