    Resued from Aberfeldy River, Toombon

    Hi All,
This could so easily have ended in tears.
Land Cruiser. Tries to cross Aberfeldy River at Toombon. Just have a look at the river. No one would even try. Not to mention that this area is closed.

I thought Land Cruisers were ' Toyota Tough ' and could go anywhere........surely he's just parked there doing some fishing

On a serious and sad note, they refused to rescue the two dogs inside the car. Although it's understandable not to put human lives at risk, it's a horrible thought that the dogs are left to perish.
I would be devistated if my dogs were in that situation. It looks like the driver's window is open, I would be pulling the dogs up to the roof with me.

Correct. I beleive the two blokes are not local. There area is closed (good luck with your insurance claim).

There is no way rescue personell should risk their lives for animals. They have done the right thing. The two blokes are lucky they were rescued.

    It just beggars belief really.

Whatever happened to " if you can't walk it, don't drive it." Looks like a late model Toyota, inexperienced, made a bad judgement call, hard way to learn. I almost feel sorry for him. I really feel there should be a look at how some 4WD's are portrayed in advertising . Those dogs would have had a better chance swimming. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The dogs were rescued by SEAL Diving, a Traralgon SCUBA store.
    Well done to those people.
