I was watching swamp rat for a long time, It would have to be one of my favourites I have ever seen.

I'm surprised how good flea-bay has become for after market parts.
Last week SWMBO's car had a window regulator cable let go again. Only the third time on that same window - hooray for quality German engineering... :censored:
Stealer wants $220 for a replacement unit kit, but that includes a whole pile of things that I don't need to fix what is actually wrong.
A well known brand in the repairs game fixed price quoted SWMBO $800 for the fix. I opened the door up they had clearly not even bothered to do so, as all of the retaining bolts were still loctited in place. Buggered if I know how they came up with the quote, especially at that amount.
Ebay to the rescue - $15 for a replacement part. Even if the part isn't as good as OEM for that price I can afford to replace it a few times. Also for that price I almost bought some spares just to have lying around and save me shipping transit times... :)
Evil bay - the great impulse buy market - buying stuff you really don't need with money you really don't have.
Yeah it's so sad to see manufacturing going off shore and so many jobs being lost, can't even find anything Australian made to buy, even I wanted to buy Australian made but hey check out these crap useless foreign made gadgets I bought on ebay! :D
... But you need this......

Actually if there is at least an Aussie seller I tend to buy from them.
Then at least some of the funds stay here!
I can buy tools from a Sydney brick and mortar shop via their eBay site cheaper than from their shop.
And no Aussie co makes what I'm buying 99% of the time.
I just bought one. Bargain.
Hopefully better than my $100 one that i bought a couple of years ago which is useless.
Admittedly you have to have the laptop close but worth it if the image is usable. In any case $16 is not much to lose.

eBay is an absolute revolution for anyone in WA. It's far, far better than the old days where it either had to be ordered in or it wasn't available at all. Which is still often the case with shops here.
