    On My Way Home

    I got this little gem of a video on my home yesterday.

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHiYQcXmamo]How long will he live? - YouTube[/ame]

    If this guy gets a licence I can't imagine he will last long with such poor judgement.

    What an absolute fool. It's wet and miserable and the idiot goes and does something like that.

    It's bad enough on that section of the Ippy motorway on an afternoon without people adding to it.

    Obviously got his mate mixed up with the other bike going off the freeway

    I'd give him a 7 for air, 10 for visibility and 0 for brains

    It appears to me that he is not learning very well
    I do not think that he was aware of the traffic island. For sure his undies are smelly after that

    ...And a drain on the public health system. Idiots riding like idiots cause all sorts of problems not just for themselves.

    And on the other side, When I spent some 2 weeks in the ortho ward after my altercation with a car I saw so much carnage from bikes vs car scenarios. One young guy in his late teens/ early 20's was in for his 5th op to reconstruct his calf muscle etc as he was drawn into the wheel well of a 4x4 that changed lanes into him at freeway speeds. He will NEVER walk properly again, and that wasn't even his fault.

    I see that sort of thing regularly on the Bruce H'way from Pine River Bridge to the Caboolture turnoff it is not funny, send shivers down my spine, and I started riding in 1959/60, worst of all most are wearing shorts/jeans and work boots,I wouldn't leave the yard without leather jacket,gloves and calf length boots helmet was open face,so one could educate errant car drivers, and no I was not a 1%'er just rode defensively.

    All the ingredients were there for a major catastrophe, rain, poor visibility, speed, hesitation, traffic, infraction of the traffic regulations, ......
    The error chain could have ended in a fatal outcome if one of the ingredients triggered the reaction.

    Check this video, is it the car driver or rider's fault?
