Thread: Are Landy drivers snobs?

As part of my employment as a Network Officer in the Kimberley region of WA I travel on average up to 3500ks per week. Most of this travel is done in a current model HiLux. Not my choice, however, it is generally a capable vehicle, except in soft sand. Regardless, it is my work vehicle. During the day to day humdrum of my job I pass many Landys of all shapes, sizes and types and generally towing the obligatory palace on wheels. Some of these palaces would really be testing the towing capacities of the respective Landies let alone the operators. That statement is not on it's own with Landy operators. Nevertheless, I always offer a wave or salute to the brand. It is a rare moment when i get a wave back or any recognition whatsoever. 'Tis a shame because i thought Landy owners were a happy and fun bunch whom would return a wave and recognition of a great brand. Some of these operators look like they have a scowl burnt into their heads, as if to say "What?" "Why could that mere Toyota driver be waving at me?" There's only one answer. I love the Landy brand and it helps bring a smile to me when I see a scowl upon your grumpy sunburnt faces, when I am having great day. You guys should really wear blockout when you're driving and smile a little. If you still can.
Come on guys give a wave and smile a little. It might brighten your day.

most locals wave--and most living on back roads expect that you know who they are.

the non wavers are from obvious various groups or just blind.
those that expect to be waved to will let you know.

I had to have that if your tinted window were not so dark--or if you painted the company logo on the bonnet you get a wave.

this week I got bogged when I moved to the shoulder to pass an oncoming cattle truck.in slop over the wheel nuts the length of the truck and 4 ton trailer.I now can expect more waves from that area.

If you were in my area and I came across you. First I would've had a chuckle then I would've called in the nearest Service Crew to help. Most of the crew tow around a loader or some other plant that could help in that kind of situation. If that was no good we'd pull out the stove and boil the billy.
