    Romsey land Rover Name Change

Got a letter last week from the guys at Romsey advising that, after 15 years of being known as 'Romsey Land Rover Service Centre' they are now no longer allowed to use the name 'Land Rover' in their name. From the 1st July they are now known as 'Romsey British Automotive'.

Apart from the name change and a shuffle around of the workshop and office, all other facets of the business will remain the same.

Phone number and great service stay the same.

This isn't the only example of Land Rover getting precious about their name recently either...

    Cheers - Gav.

Yeah it's world wide. The mob in Utah that sold me my Detroit locker got the same demand from LR, they were called Great Basin Rover now GBR!

Wonder when Inc will have to change the forum name...

Australian precious (or petty if you prefer) British automobile owners. Or AUPBAO

EDIT: That's the British automobile company who are precious/petty, not their owners.... Well, some of us aren't

I remember LR doing a similar thing to lots of the independent places back in the UK when BMW bought them.
Lots of little garages went from being "Joe Blogs Land Rovers" to "Joe Blogs 4x4"
