Was that the "273K man"?...I see all charges have been dropped against the guy they charged?
But yes, I have nothing against "the station guys"....they do what they're told I guess, what the regulations say etc.
And I know nothing about the internal operations of the Police Force, but I'd love to know the % of resources put into traffic, as compared with say 20 years ago. Yeah, 5ks over...and what about the cars that sit close to rail crossings for half an hour or so waiting to get some-one who's started to move just before the lights stopped flashing...3 points & what $250?!!....
And yet, we've been burgled once, & on another occasion, a cheque book was stolen from our mail box, $5K misappropriated (bank reimbursed me)...I filled out all reports etc incl. Police report....they said they'd be in touch.....but I heard nothing.
But "break traction" in ya car....& it's impounded???...
    Cheers, Pickles.

We've had two break-ins since we moved to Kalgoorlie. First one was in the shed / workshop, and second one was the house.

The first one - our dog (German Shepherd) tore the back out of his leg. He never came back.

The second one was caught by a family member running up the back laneway. Won't describe what happened to him - but the gear he had pinched was recovered and he never came back either.

Never bothered reporting either incident to the local police - waste of time.

A little while back, we had "locals" running amok down the laneways, throwing rocks into back yards / onto roofs etc. I went for a little "drive" in the Disco looking for them. Was pulled up at the end of the laneway by the resident in the end house - turns out he's a local copper. He offered to come with me and "assist" if I found and caught up with the culprits. We ended up having quite a good chat - he was interested in my young bloke's car which he had heard / seen regularly coming up the laneway (it's a rather unusual imported sports job) and we have since got on well together. It's good knowing that there's a member of the local station living a few doors away.
    Cheers .........

Why do you all think such things

The car thieves that took and wrote off my XE ESP 351, well lets just say one uses wheels to get around now and the other *may* have had his pride and joy "altered" to a less than functional condition.

That car (my ESP) would have now be worth over $85k

    I'm more sedate now

I've heard that in WA they recruit about 30 a month and have around 30 quit a month.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

there was a story on a different car forum 4 years ago.

the guy got a sms from his girlfriend saying the front door has been smashed in and shes waiting for the police to arrive.

the guy drives home, gets pulled over, defected andand 30min later gets home to find his gf crying out the front. the police hadnt arrived yet.

like every organisation, there are good workers and bad workers. the bad workers dont get promoted and stay in general patrol duties. the public see/interact with general patrol duties officers the most. this leads to a bad image.

and again, like every organisation, there are good and bad policies. unless the courts are involved, a member of the public interacting with the police is a one way street. bad policies affect the public as they have no reproach.

combine bad policy with a bad officer and it can give you a very bad day.
