    I actually thought that pickup was official landrover speak, admittedly I didn't state that I meant a truck cab, but I'm sure some time ago in England It was referred to as 'Truck cab pickup' though I could be wrong.

    I'm with you on the Americanisms, though I don't like 'Ute' either!

    And Chops, I had thought exactly the same just this Sunday when I looked at the Jocky wheels in Bunnings, cheaper but sturdy!

    Nah, suv = sports utility vehicle
    And generally sports are based on a competition where two or more opponents are vying for some sort of supremacy over each other. I 'spose getting the best parking spot outside the school gate to pick up the little animals could be considered "sport".
