"Thunderbirds are go " , they always make me think of the thunderbirds when i see those vehicles, same with those low slung crane trucks.
We have had a team of our mechanics at work for the past week installing additions to our fleet.
Here are a few before, during and after photos.
We haven't been able to play with them yet, as not all of the electronics are connected. They have a throw of 50 metres, so will be useful on light aircraft in the unlikely event of a mishap. There is also a FLIR camera mounted in the top.

Excuse my ignorance, but what do they do?
Nice shiny new airport fire tenders there Numpty.
Just pray you don't have to use them in ernest.
Mmmmm Pretty...
You Airport guys get all the good toys...![]()
Have you seen the ones to pierce the fuselage on larger aircraft to then
fill the inside with water/foam?
I have heard about them but not seen any.
Nice stuff though!

I have been told??? that the airstrip is now large enough to land a "Jumbo".
Any chance of a couple of shots to show the size of the strip?
Nice Fire Buggies though!
That strip is impressive, I zoomed in on the runway on Google Maps, it looks long enough to land a Jumbo, but then they have plenty of room for the length.
What's the gadget at -25.188360, 130.972320 , is that for training?
.
.
Called a bumper monitor, which applies agent ie water or foam, to fires in much the same way as the roof mounted one, only at a lower level and output.
Runway is 2590 metres which is long enough for a jumbo (Sydney E/W runway is 2500) but being only 30 metres wide, the outboard engines would be hanging out in the dirt. Our common aircraft types are 737, A320 and Embraer 190.
Yes, that "gadget" would be our training mockup.
