There are some mining jobs that do not require much qualification or none.
If you are hoping that this next job will be a very long lasting job would you consider further studies?
All I know about mackay is that there is mines there

yea well that's the problem with jobs really... everything needs quals. but the trick is paying for the quals on the off chance you can score a job later. Been there done that it's not much fun.

yea mackay... well... there are technically no mines in mackay... they are all west - couple of hours really. There is plenty of mining related industry here.

You sound like me! I was talking to one of my naughtier but well meaning students from 16 years ago recently. He spends most of the time driving remote offroad working for a hydraulics rep. Spends a fair bit of time shooting camels along the way as part of his environmental effort. Another of my past students asked me for advice on doing a Dip Ed having already been a Geologist for three years. I asked him for advice on doing a metallurgy post grad to add to my Science degree. I think that was all the advice from me that he needed.

Add fishing.............. I get paid by a couple of companies to work as a TA / consultant doing fish surveys in various river systems for a number of Gov and non Gov organisations.

The best jobs involve camping and 4x4 and I'd probably do them for nix if I could afford it.

Need a lot of different tickets, a lot of experience and demonstrated self employed mindset to fit in.

I do a lot of other stuff besides................

    Lucky? Yep

I'd suggest you look at environmental consulting companies that are brought in to assess environmental aspects pre, during and after mining.

    cheers, DL

I've had plenty of teachers over the years as field assistants.

Basically if you have some bush, camping, 4wd experience and a practical disposition you'll be fine.

    Cheers

    Easy.
(It would have to be a woodwind band as I am told drummers aren't actually musicians!)
