    Wider track, Perentie or 101?

Just a general question as I dont have specs of the 101.
Any one know the track width and which is the wider?

The distance between the wheels isn't technically the track...

Which Perenti are you interested in - the 4x4 or 6x6 - I think the 6x6 is wider in the track - body certainly is.

    101 front track is 60"
    Rear Track is 61"

Not sure where this between the wheels comes from - not mentioned in the handbooks and repair manual. Infact the diagram in the manual shows track correctly measured centre of tread to centre of tread.

    On a 4x4 110 I understand the track is 1500mm or 59", whilst on the 6x6 the track is 1700mm or 66.9"

    Track widths

I understand this is the sequence

    Range Rover and 110 is 58.6" (1486mm),
    130 is 59.6" (1511mm)
    101 as above Front 60"(1524mm), Rear 61"(1549)
    Perentie 4x4 bit over 59" (1500mm); 6x6 66.8"(1700mm)

The track width depends on the rim offset/backspacing.

More important for the OP's purposes I assume is the WMS-WMS (Wheel Mounting Surface) measurement.

IRC that the measurements are as follows:

    Series II/IIA/III : 55"
    RRC/D1/90/110/130 : 61"
    101FC : 65"
Perentie 6x6 : ??? >66.8" by the sound of it.

    Interesting question & interesting answers.

As a comparison The Toyota LC200 track is wide 1640 front and 1650 rear.
    LC100 = 1620 /1615 and a 70 series cruiser is quite narrow at 1515f and 1420r

The Iveco Daily 4x4 I'm considering buying has a track of 1670 F&R, so at least its not going to be far too wide for CSR etc.

(esp if a perentie 6x6 has pushed its way thru first )

Actually it came about from a discussion at a swap meet. This bloke said the 101 was wider than a Perentie. Of course me thinking of my 6x6 said no way. He was obviously referring to the 4x4 so I guess in a way we were both right.
