My new book is in the mail

" The third policeman " by Flan O'brien.
I read it years ago and then forgot all about it untill it was revisited on Tuesday night on the ABC's Book Club.
It is fabulously absurd and terrifying if you are a thinker with an imagination.
I ordered the thingy first thing yesterday.
    Quotes below.

    Anybody else read it ?

    Cheers.

Not yet, describe the plot a bit more, fact or fiction? Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Haven't seen that one but "Outback Policeman" by Vic Hall is not a bad read. All about the experiences of a NT mounted copper back in the 20's and 30's.

Bob, unfortunatly I dont have the skills to describe this book and do it justice.
I can only say that it is the funniest and at the end the scariest and one of the most thought provoking books that I have ever read.
You wont come away unscathed. As you get into it your mind will bogle at the concepts and pathways that lead you to mental numbness. It is difficult to laugh and cry at the the same time. Hiding under the bed wont help !!!
    It's absurd but pure brilliance.
Well worth the 20 bucks to order it from Bookworld.
    Couple more quotes below.

    Cheers.
