Im just curious as to whether there are other musicians here. Amature or Pro. Old timers or learners. In music it doesnt matter.

Ive spent 20 years or so playing semi pro in bands when I was young, in duos when I was a bit older and these days I am doing solo singer songwriter shows. Im not in the charts, but I play a lot of weddings, cafes, festivals and corporate things and its given me a lot of joy over the years. To be honest Im winding back the business side of my music though and doing less paid jobs. It only ever paid its own bills and I still make my living with my day job. Ive given up cafe and corporate work because it really was starting to feel like a chore.

I have this desire to get back to where it all began and play around a campfire with happy people singing along. In all the years of playing music, those are among my happiest memories. Maybe I need to get back to the start and find some inspiration again.

So basically, I am wondering if there are other people on here who would like to have a bit of a jam session around a fire on one of the trips. I can guarantee it will be fun.
    Hi buddy
My musical career from the other side of the globe pretty much mirrors yours. Will never be able to jam with you but-----
I started playing guitar at 12 because of the Beatles. Played semi-pro most of my life, even once at a funeral. That was really weird!!!
These days me and our band pick and chooses. Have you noticed at 12 o`clock that your guitar amp feels like its screwed to the floor?
The saving grace is that I decided to learn clawhammer banjo and uke at 50. Its fun. Every kid at school should be given a ukulele. learn 3 chords and play a song.
    Cheers

    Oh yeah.
The little Uke is a fun instrument, bought one myself only a few months ago.
Played it at our annual country music festival.
An electrified Gibson Flying V shaped Uke, played country music in a reggae beat.
Really shook some of the staid older fans.

I can keep myself amused with a Guitar, was never much good at being taught the theory behind it but I can normally work out most stuff I want to play
I spend more time as a roady for the nutter on the left who kind of looks like Billy Gibbons

I think it's the only reason he supported me getting a Land Rover, room to fit amps in the back

    Hello

Have always loved music -one of the few interests my wife doesn't share with me. Back in the 1980's jammed for fun with various mates and bands at uni- just before the new midi stuff became mainstream- and you pretty much needed a different keyboard for every sound: Old analogue synths left over from the 1970's. Then went overseas with work for 20 years and never touched a keyboard that whole time.

Six years ago moved back to Aussie and out of nostalgia bought a state of the art new 'modelling' keyboard. Incredible how technology had advanced in those two decades. Amazing new instruments -but very complex for an amateur over 40 and somehow missing the warmth of the old. I can remember as a standing mugs of coffee on my old valve keyboards to keep them from going cold.

    Love it.

    Alan
