    Stupid LBW rules

Lets change them. Any ball that hits the pads in line with the wicket is out regardless of where it pitches. If a ball hits the pads in line and is shown that it would have hit the stumps even if only flicking the edge of them will be out. The current laws are stupid. Jim

I didn't see it but I assume it pitched outside leg by the sounds of it?

It would make for some annoyed batters and shorter games initially, that's for sure!! But long term I wonder whether batsmen would adjust OK and potentially be a nicer game. I can't remember who it was - maybe Bradman? - who learnt to bat under the idea that if you don't want to get given out LBW don't get hit on the pads. Use your bat.

I've always thought it was a solid point. Normally getting hit on the pads is because the batsman was beaten and missed the ball. If the batsman is skilled enough, the ball never makes it to their pad anyway, so maybe they should stop whinging about bad decisions and just hit the damn ball!

Would make for some very boring cricket, imagine a 7-2 leg side field with right arm round the wicket bowling actually able to get wickets!!!

It did. Nearly a whole ball's width outside the line.

Disagree. The rule is because the the umpire only really has a view from wicket to wicket. Outside of that straight on view, you can offer less and less certainty that the batsman was hit in line, and so you'd be relying on technology to officiate instead.

haha Every batter would instantly be claiming "all rounder" status.
