From the Sales Prevention Department at the *** (WA)

Me: "Hi, I'd like to get a quote for insuring my boat."
***: "Excellent, where will the boat be stored?"
Me: "Under cover in my locked warehouse at the back of my office, with monitored alarm."
***: "Sorry sir, we can only insure you if it's kept at a residential address."
Me: "So you'll insure me if I park it on the street verge out the front of my house, but not if it's stored in my locked, alarmed & monitored warehouse?"
***: "That's right sir, it doesn't fit within our policy guidelines."

Good grief. How hard is it to give people money these days?

    Computer says no.

I was recently refused insurance on a $4000 250cc Learner Approved motorcycle by the insurance company that I have 4 cars, and house and contents with. I am 39 years old, have never made a claim, and have no infringements against my name, but because I have had my bike license for less than a year, the computer said no.....

So that means you cannot insure your boat if it is stored at a bulk lockup either, or in a marina boat park.

Shannons wouldn't insure my 3rd range rover for 3 months as they dont accept short term stuff, hang on, thats ontop of my other car, and they are meant to be for enthusiasts etc???

Then get onto allianz who wouldn't insure it as it had been uninsured for more than 30 days..........

AAMI were happy to take my money!

My Deefer is insured with Shannons & I pay monthly. Bet if I cancelled the direct debit after 3 months there would be little they could do.

Im with SGIO and have lots of policys.
We just bought a Ford Territory Turbo(the XR6 mojo).
I sorted the insurance wich was cheaper than my D2 .
The paperwork came thru and they neglected to put the vehicle in joint names,as are the other vehicles, boat, house and contents in our policys .
The mrs ring up to correct it.They put the policy price up to have it in joint names.
I got onto them, their excuse was her driving record.I pointed out mine was worse.Told them to sort it or Im looking eleswhere, funnily enough the sorted it.

I've just about had enough of the RACWA. When trying to insure our van I got a moron whose answer to everything I said was "Not a problem" and this went on for dozens of questions.
Eventually I blew up and asked to be transferred to his supervisor or at least some one who had a better command of the language.
Then I get the house renewal and the sum insured had risen by around 5% but the premium 20%.
I asked why the hell they reckoned it cost more to build a single storey than many 2 storey homes and it was apparently all the builders oiks fault for demanding so much money which they then spend down the pub.
That's 5 policies they don't get renewed from now on.
    AlanH.
PS. And their recovery service doesn't seem to offer much these days either if you're out of town.
