    Some Questions about parts

Im currently looking at getting a Defender second hand, currently i have a BMW and i have found a website over seas that i can buy nearly all my parts from for a quarter of the Australian price.

I use a Cataloge to find the part number and the website has all the parts listed with the numbers - i only have to wait a week or two for the part and save bulk load

I was just wondering if there is any website like this for Land Rover, especially a Land Rover Defender 130 series.

    Many thanks

    G'Day Max and welcome.
You will hear this many times during your time here:
Be VERY careful ordering anything from BritPart. a small number of their products are Genuine or equivalent, many are not worth looking at.
Read carefully their description, whether Genuine, OEM or copy. it can be a little misleading (un-intentionally, I am sure).

There are a number of parts suppliers here and overseas that do business well.
Avoid anyone who ships by DHL!
They are well know for pulling a scam that includes additional 'Customs' charges amongst other things.
    Cheers, BDave.

We sell the full genuine parts range as well as OEM, and PR2, which is well liked in the UK.

Buy Australian, who cares if the prices are higher here, spend your money in Australia, it will eventually get back to you.
Prices overseas might be cheaper, but by the time you add freight, esp. from the USA and wait 2 weeks to get it the price here isn't so bad, the UK is a bit quicker but frieght is ridiculous.
I just bought a new 300TDi head here from a seller in Newcastle, NSW for the same cost as UK, delivered 3 days for around $20 delivery. Also from the same seller a Garrett Turbo for 300TDi, 2 days delivery $27, if I am not happy with the product I can drop in and have a chat with the seller and sort things out, what are you going to do. Send the goods back at your expense and hopefully resolve the problem on the other side of the world on the phone, don't like your chances, FFS support your own country first, Regards Frank.

What site are you using for BMW parts? Most I have looked at when you include freight were as dear or dearer than using BMW suppliers here.
Generally most LR parts I buy in Australia as comparable with buying outside and can deal with issues fairly easy. Having said that some items not available here or extremely cheaper I will buy from OS.

There are several parts suppliers that are members here.
I try and support them where possible.

I dont see why for example BMW aus buys a radiator from germany for under $140 aus but yet processed to sell it for $800... When i can buy the same part for $280 delivered....

Please explain to me the logic behind this, i would pay $350 if it was in Australia but everyone here thinking they can scam huge percentages off customers.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised to find out how cheap Land Rover parts are compared to nissan/toyota/mitsubishi 4x4 parts

What are you going to do if it turns out to be a POS, take it back, have a whinge, at least if you buy it here you are covered, for another $100 bucks your local radiator bloke will fit a new core.
If you get one from OS you better hope they pack it well, something that fragile will almost always get damaged, ever seen how these frieght mobs handle "Fragile" goods, good luck, Regards Frank.
