Find a mate with a rifle, kill the dogs next time they come on to your property. If you know where the dogs come from, contact the owner to state your case. Be careful, not all owners of these dogs are nice people. If you do shoot them, bury them deep , and say nothing. I have to ask the question, how did you identify the owners? Do you have the right dogs? If, as you say, the council identified the dogs owners just by the description given by you, they must have history. Or, they are feral, and if so, fair game. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Any animal attacking stock is fair game, collar or not.
Bury them deep with a sprinkling of lime, then just let the issue drop.

Unfortunately the area in question is plagued with pig dogs with very few responsible owners.
While ever pups are handed around free they have no value, unlike a good working dog.

My wife identified the dogs by showing neighbours the photo's
I neighbour recognised them as belonging to a person they know.
They were definitely not feral or wild, 1 had a dog coat on & both had collars.

Borrow the dog traps from the council, but if you catch one, call a mate with a rifle...

If you are on a farm, then the ducks and geese are stock and the owner of the dogs is liable to compensate you for the loss of your stock.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Don't you hate when they do that, I had a similar problem but since I moved it isn't on my mind anymore. Though I do feel sad that it happened

Sure you can, you just have to make the hole a little deeper, longer and use a fair bit more lime
