    Mad Wife.

After 31 years of marriage, 36 years with my wife, a daughter & 2 female Foster Children, I have decided I really don't understand women.
A couple of weeks ago we were driving along & went past a Flash for Cash speed camera, shortly after my wife asked why roads were the colour they are? I replied that I think it had to do with the gravel they used & that tar was blue/black.
She didn't say anything for a while then piped up that roads should be all different colours & that it would be easy with some big drums of food colour or similar.
I, being male, could not figure out what the hell she was on about, so I said why? To look pretty?
She said no & that I was stupid. I must be, because I could not see why she would want roads to be different colours, I asked her to clarify her statement.
She said that roads should be different colours for different speed limits, like blue/black for 100kph, yellow for 60kph & so on. She said then there would be no excuse for missing a speed sign or being somewhere unfamiliar & so on for 10 minutes.
I pointed out that it would cost a lot of money to resurface every road, some colours would glare car lights back & that food colouring would wash out.
She called me stupid again & said that they were always doing roadwork & could do it over time, they have the CSIRO to work out what colours & sort of dye would work & that pink should be 50kph because I would hate that.
I then cave up the argument, there was no winning, decided I was right 31 years ago & that she is mad, drove in stolid silence because I'm not stupid & could not get the thought of pink roads out of my head.

Just as an aside to the above, my wife restarts conversations in the middle that I thought were finished days ago & expects me to know what she is on about, to pick back up on the conversation like it never stoped & not look at her like she is from Mars.
Unfortunately, I have got so used to this I can step right back into the conversation as if it didn't stop at least 25% of the time.

You could colour the centre lines different colours for different speed limits, I have seen mention of this before!!!

On the morning of our 20th wedding anniversary I got out of bed singing, "Would have got out today, would have got out today..."

Once the blood had been cleaned up & the bruises healed I decided to stick to singing the 70's classics.

    Hmmm, coloured roads!
Maybe like the bus lanes in Sydney that are coloured red.
Maybe in ravenshow you don't have them.
Or regarding lines, the blue lines for the Sydney Olympics marathon are still on the roads that have not been resurfaced.
Your wife has some good Ideas!

its been trialed (colouring the center line) I remember reading about it and thinking it would be a good idea....

I think the reason it wasnt adopted was becuase of expense and colour perception issues.
