Thread: September Eleven

Today is another anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre in which thousands of innocent people died. It seems like yesterday and when I look back to 2001 and I first saw it on TV, I thought it was a movie, with great special effects until I quickly realised this was actually happening.

May something like this never happen again, it is a tragedy.

I wish to remind people of another tragedy that happened on September 11th, 1973, when the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende in Chile was overthrown by the US backed General Pinochet.

This also led to the deaths of tens of thousands of people under this despots regime of terror which lasted for quite some time.

May something like this also never happen again.

I remember watching it on telly. Live feed, it was around midnight here.
I was patiently waiting for the broadcast to end as Star Trek was about to come on. I eventually realised it was a news cast.
