Can anyone recommend a good auto-electrician in Brisbane?

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good auto-electrician in Brisbane? My Range Rover P38 must have a short somewhere because this is now the second time my battery has gone flat (and its a new battery). I have not been driving the car during the weeks but have on the weekends. Two weeks ago I drove it out to Warwick (2hrs each way) and then the car sat in the garage for the week. I took it out for some short trips last weekend and it has again been parked since Sunday.

I went to fire the old girl up tonight and the battery was so flat that the remote would not unlock the doors and then when I tried to turn it over I couldn't even get any lights on the dash to eluminate! I have read widely on here about how P38's need a good supply of power that is why I bought a quality battery about a month or so ago.

If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear from you. My plan from here is to disconnect the battery tonight, put the 240V battery charger on it for the weekend (its only a small charger) and then early next week when the battery is fully charged I'll take it somewhere. I just have a feeling that the suburban auto-electrician might not know much about Range Rovers, but I could be wrong.

    Cheers

You didn't state north or south. We live in Logan and we use a local guy for our series vehicles. Not range Rover but he is trained on Lucas and *sighs* every time we drive in does a good job though

Thanks. I live on the north side. I have an auto electrician that I have used in the past on my old hilux. Will ring him tomorrow and see if he has ever worked on one before.

Another vote for ACES, Ian Fordyce is brilliant and well worth the treck across town.

Thanks guys for your responses. A friend who also has a P38 has recommended a place where he has had work on his done called Geebung Auto Electrical. They are only 5mins from my work and could get me in Monday so I'm going to give them a go as its easy for me to drop the car off and pick it up.

If he has no luck in finding the problem, I will give one of the Mobs listed above a call.

    Thanks heaps

Yeah! Now that could well be the problem I had a VC Commondore wagon that had that problem so I glued a small piece of flat rubber on the inside of the lid inline with the switch button, solved the problem, then I still had an operational glove box light and no battery problems, that Commodore went when I got my RRC.
