I forgot that one was on last night. Bugger.
Sounds like it wasn't without controversy though BBC Sport - Wales v Australia: Warren Gatland says referee wrong to give try

When the boot is on the other foot, how people change their tune. All the hype that Wales were going to out muscle Australia, because they had 10 Lions players in their squad, was just that. The Blonde front rower who talked it up? replaced well before full time. Gatland? a Kiwi. enough said. Bob
Just read that BBC report, it speaks volumes. In the 1980's, the All Blacks were going thru a bad patch, "apparently" the refs in England weren't giving them a "fair go". An extraordinary meeting of the IRB put out a directive to the effect the All Blacks must be given " a fair go " because of their standing in the game. That's how McGraw has got away with murder for so long, & why the All Blacks seem to get the rub of the green, more than not. For A kiwi coach to complain is the height of hypocrisy. Bob

"The referee made the decision himself, without the TMO. I doubt he would have made that decision himself if it was the [New Zealand] All Blacks playing," said Gatland.
"He made the call himself. I haven't spoken to him about it. It is not going to change the result."
chill out Bob, your team played well, they beat everyone ranked below them this year so well done to them, just relax, your'e in danger of your anti kiwi chip on your shoulder causing serious back problems.
When your team starts beating those ranked above them regularly, then stast crowing about how good they are, get rid of Horwil and Genia and you may actually start doing that!
Good to see Cooper playing well finally , pity about the 48 tests or so of rubbish to get him there tho..
But anyway, let's talk about real rugby teams, how about them AB's....one test loss in two years , and playing in the two best games of the season vs the Bokke and Ireland, 4 players with 100 tests each in the team and an average age in the squad of 26...now that is a brilliant mix of experience and youth...2015 is going to be an awesome tournament he way some of these teams are heading..
I was talking of the pre game hype, the fact that Wales had talked themselves up to the point that it was going to be a walk in the park, they had 10 Lions, home advantage, and several Wallabies had come back after suspension.
So I was talking in the sense of "in their view, they should have won".
But well done for jumping in with the crotchety old fart crap again. ;)
We could take a poll on that if you like
Last I looked, the Wallabies consisted of 22 varying sizes of brick ****house. They probably don't need you sticking up for them. And I fail to see how me writing "the Wallabies had the edge the whole game" is knocking the Wallabies. Quite the opposite in fact.
And I have now watched the whole game, courtesy of YouTube, and my opinion that it would have been a good one to be in the crowd for has not changed.
