Some aircraft techs realized that (then) speed radars operated in the same band as the weather radars of commercial aircraft, so they set up a vehicle with one installed...cruised around and fried the front end of every radar trap they came across...

They didnt cover the plates.The guilty party were forced to put their hands up or face a CCC investigation.

In S.E.Qld they have almost finished setting up the point to point south bound on the Bruce H'way from Caloundra to Burpengary so it will be a goer in time for the Qld school holidays,wonder why I use the GPS as a speedo now ;)

we have point to point in the ACT for about 18 months and don't seem to be a real issue as I have programmed my GPS for it so it warns me if I go over the speed limit but also if my average is too high. The other thing about point to point is that the start and finish are speed cameras in their own right so that even though your average speed is lower than the limit, if you enter or leave higher than the limit you also get pinged.
