The broken axle Land Rovers were the pre 1972 series 109" Land Rovers, although after 2003 Land Rover fitted the P38a diff to Defender.

The 2010 Defender ute has a Ford transit 2.4 litre turbodiesel or the later ones 2.2 turbodiesel.

The Salisbury rear diffs are very strong and were used 1972 to 2002, the 1980s-90s ex-Army 110 Land Rovers with the 3.9 litre Isuzu are very reliable. These are coming through the graysonline auctions every month. The Isuzu 3.9 lutre NA diesel is mechanical inector pump pre common rail.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

2010 is called the puma after the engine, go have a look in the defender section for puma issues. In reality the cost of puma issues is around the same as a 2010 patrol as they have the hand grenade 3.0 td.
As to an ex army, pick the right one and it will last 5times longer than a gq ,galvanised chassis, aluminium panels, fit a rear Detroit and a set of hy tuff axles and maybe a front Ashcroft locker, axles and cvs and you won't stop. If your a bit more flush with cash lash out on a turbo/inter cooler for the Isuzu. Flares 2in lift and 4.1 ratio in the diffs and you can fit 35in tyres, try those in a patrol and your going to need a step ladder as 4-6 in lift +body lift+++ is where it starts.
