I drive all round North NSW and Qld and the NT for work. I do about 80,000ks a year

I hit a roo the other day in the company car on the middle of nowhere.

So I am now seriously think of one of these in car cameras that videos everything and just rewrites it's self. I have a go pro but that would not work.

I have seen some really strange things on the road and would love to have recorded them but also I think due to the amount of idiots on the road I think I am going to need it as proof soon when one of these idiots hit me.

I think the video from the previous post is from a Blackvue camera. I'm planning on getting a couple . . . money allowing, as usual.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

Personally I see no issues with goingbush's driving. He appears to be passing slower vehicles whilst travelling at or slightly above the posted speed limit. Where is the problem??

    correct,
the wide angle view of the camera makes objects appear further than they reallv are (so the gap the Hilux squeezed thru was much smaller than it appears) I was indeed overtaking a number slower cars travelling on the left , and if you were privy to the footage before and after the event you would see that I had only moved to the right to overtake those cars

ATH has issues with my driving driving , fair enough, I'm no saint, but I did add to the post just to point out that the Police do indeed follow up these dashcam incidents ( but the cops had no issue with my diving even tho I was clearly 3 kph over the limit)

and sent the Goulburn LAC a link, despite the logistic issue with me being in Vic , the Hilux being ACT rego and the incident being in NSW , they arranged a statement next time I was in NSW (a few months later), I also furnished video from 5 mins prior and 5 mins later and they did proceed against the owner / driver

But I dont know the outcome
It is hard to appreciate the distances between cars but have thw police not mentioned nothing to you regarding keeping the left?
Looking at the video and the way that I am driving after you overtaken the car I would put the indicator and change to the left line.

I was in the right lane to overtake slower cars. The cops analized the video by counting the white lines which are a known fixed length to calculate the distances vs time . they had no issue with either my speed (113k) or the fact that it looks like I was travelling in the right lane.

as I said before I gave them video 5 mins before and after and I'm in the left the whole time exept for over taking cars. I'm not going zig & zag in and out like an idiot, esp at 110k .

the thread was about weather its worth sending videos to the cops, but from the peanut gallery apparantly it appears I'm at fault for hogging the right lane and the Hiulux driver is ok squeezing thru the impossible gap . No wonder the thread about Grey Nomads / slow caravan drivers is getting emotive.

It's not just Toyota drivers that drive like idiots and think they own the road

I can't see how anyone with common sense would say you we're hogging the right lane. You looked to be clearly passing slower cars at a good pace. Their is no excuse for impatient drivers driving erratically and dangerously to save a few minutes on their trip.
I am constantly amazed at how many cars almost cut the nose off our car when pulling back in front of us while we are towing our 2.7 tone caravan at the posted speed limit and then don't keep moving away allowing a safe gap between us and them.
