Probably in the wrong section as this is home brewing.
But with the many micro brewries socking supermarket shelves is eye opening.
I hate the taste of VB.
I like tooheys old dark ale.
I don't mind carlton draught occasionaly
I have been sampling a few different ones and found 1 I really liked and can't remember what it was
Today I sampled
Murray's Whale ale from Port Stephens, very milky looking colour and it was very yeasty in taste. Blah for that one.
Bridge Road Brewers Beechworth pale ale , had a strong finish, of herby after taste, similar to Fat yak. Blah for me on that one.
I seems when I try one and it is to my liking the next time is doesn't appeal as much as before.
All I can do is keep trying the many different ones![]()
Go for a Sunday drive out to healsville, give white rabbit brewery a go, yummy.
James squier are good as well.
Yeah I think your right with James squire, but its yummy. White rabbit white ale on tap is delicious. I live around the corner from grand ridge brewery, they do a decent range, some I like, some I don't. So many micro breweries out there nowadays.
I've tried a lot of so-called "boutique beers" and most have two things wrong. 1. They are grossly overpriced (nearly all), and 2, a lot of them taste funny.
URSUSMAJOR
And now we have beer appreciators ; this one has the scent of raspberry with an initial palate of earl grey and a crisp after taste of toasted hops infused with eidelweiss nector that sticks to the tonsils.
Definitely an award winner
I just drink them and none of those things come to mind, you either like it or you don't
Microbreweries are just home brewers with larger equipment![]()
Listening to the radio a few weeks back, and they were talking about food, and the way colour, plates, cutlery, atmosphere etc all has an effect on the perceived taste.
They went on to say that they got a cheap and nasty white wine, added red food colouring to make it look like a red, put it in a fancy glass and none of the "experts" could tell. They rambled on about flavours and aromas that weren't even there.
