My guess is there is a lot more not shown on the footage that went on prior and he might have regretted his actions.
    The what button?

Other videos from the same group show them doing all sorts of dumb and illegal things. Including blocking intersections, riding on footpaths etc. There is nothing so far to show the RRS driver had done anything other than buying a car these dicks didn't like.

I'd say more than a couple of black eyes.
He was rushed to hospital and required stitches.

Mob mentality, never a good thing.

"Twenty to 30 bikers then surrounded the SUV and started gesturing at him, the video shows.

The motorcyclists then began damaging the Range Rover and slashed one the tires, causing the driver to take off and flee north and then exit the highway as his tire deflated"

He then hits one of the bikers and according to the article breaks the blokes leg.
    Fair.
    ****ing.
    Game.

I've spent a bit of time on a bike and I'm normally incredibly impressed with the behaviour of bike riders, including in large groups. Car drivers not so much, but if it were me in this blokes situation I wouldn't be having a bar of it.
They slash my tyres after forcing me to stop with my family on board? It's game on. sorry but I would not be trying to outrun jap bikes in NYC, You know your going to hit traffic eventually, get to 70+mph hit the ABS, whilst swerving , repeat till they back off sake He's driving a 2.5ton RR sport . The IQ of a bikie mob is defined as the most intelligent riders IQ (say 140 for a smartie) divided by the number of riders (50ish) gives an average IQ just under 3 for the mob.
Call the cops and tell them your averaging 10-15mph on the freeway with 50+idiots on 2 wheels harassing you. Unfortunately being NYC there would be little chance of a field, creek or park to drive across to lose the street bikes.

    That's my point.
From the info we have, they're being obnoxious, that attitude causes a minor bingle, they start getting their thug on and he decides he's had enough.
If I had a wife and kids in the car and such an event happened, I'd probably do something very similar.

CNN has just reported the bikers caused the whole incident and it wasn’t the only one.

A much larger group ( read gang ) had set out to disrupt traffic all over NY city and the police had been ready for them and broke the main group up.

This lot of thugs in the video were still trying to cause disruptions and what you see in the video is the first involvement of the RRS.

The biker pulled in front of the RRS and deliberately braked to harass the driver.

Two bikers were originally charged over them smashing the windows but one has been released, to quote the police “ for now”

That could explain the lack of Police at this incident. Hard to know what to do in a situation like that. If the RR had done nothing up to the point it was stopped, what was the motivation? It may have been better to sit tight & let them trash the car. Take all the rego. numbers you could, plenty of photos with the phone, & be prepared to use the mandatory weapon of choice if they tried to enter the vehicle. I'm beginning to see why many law abiding citizens in the USA feel the need to carry weapons. Don't agree with it, what a cow of a place to live. Bob

Info from the same thread on Pirate:

The guy who got run over:
Though Mieses is a Massachusetts resident, he has never had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license for a passenger vehicle and has never applied for a motorcycle license, the Registry of Motor Vehicles said.

Registry records show that Mieses applied for a learner’s permit in 1999 and 2000, but that he never obtained a full license because he failed to pay fines imposed after he was ticketed for speeding in Lawrence in 1999. His last contact with the Registry was in 2001, when he obtained an identification card, registry records show.

Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.

In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show.
    And spreading the rumours:
Marc Roffman wrote: "Here is some additional information you all might want to read. This is my personal experience with this situation. I made sure to post this on the support site as well. As a trucker that would deliver in north jersey and New York I am familiar with these gangs. I can hopefully clarify a few things. First the initial "accident" is part of a game they play. They ride in a huge group and will operate together to slow down traffic. Next they pick out high end vehicles targeting people with families in them, the targets will usually be white or Asian. Then one of the riders will do a "brake check" and stop suddenly in front of the target vehicle causing a minor bump. In some cases they will just roll back into their target vehicle. They will then mob the vehicle demanding money and or begin attacking the person inside. It is their practice to also slash the tires to prevent the vehicle from escaping. Truckers are well aware of them and are advised not to stop. You can clearly see in the video how they are well practiced in this style of attack. The police in NY have backed off them after an officer ran one down using his vehicle a few months back. The video was all over the net so I advise you to check it out. These "bikers" ride dirt bikes and sport bikes very few of which are street legal and even fewer have plates. They run red lights, stop signs, and have no regard for the law. If you are ever in this situation do not stop, immediately call the police and do whatever you have to to keep them from boxing you in. NEVER leave the scene of an accident if you are not under direct threat!!! Only run if you have no other choice, and again immediately call the police. This is not rare by any means, the only reason this incident got any attention is because of the helmet cam video being posted on the net. If you see anyone in this situation, call the police. Make no mistake confusing these punks with true bikers. You will rarely if ever see a member of these gangs on a Harley. Do not for a minute blame true bikers for this kind of behavior. Bikers like those involved in the 2 million Bikers to DC Rally are American Patriots and would be among the first to come to your aid. A final note, always be aware of motorcycles and share the road. Check your mirrors and don't ride anyone's bumper, motorcycles have a much smaller profile then a car and are harder to see." Source:

Without more detail on the lead up it is hard to say who's right and wrong, but at the point they start getting physical it would have been on.

Sit tight and let them go to town? Take number plates? Stuff that.

When anyone puts me in a position of endangering me or my family, I will do whatever it takes to keep my family safe.

    Biker boys got off lightly.

Are you seriously suggesting you would have successfully taken on that group ? how? without a weapon, I mean. Bob

    Weapon?

Range Rover FTW. I mean without trying he seriously ****ed up one guy. If he actually tried you could easily disable at least 50% of them which would give you a better chance of getting out and then take out the balance as the opportunity arose.

He had many a chance to bounce more than one into the walls on both sides of him. If you're driving around without looking at your escape options at all times then you're not paying attention.

It's the difference between me driving and getting out mentally tired and the missus driving and me getting out terrified and her feeling ok.
