If this bloke had politely asked if he could fill his ute as we were obviously on holiday, I would have obliged in an instant. In fact he wouldn't have had to ask; I have often offered to let others fill up ahead of me in similar circumstances. But rude impatience will earn you a bit of a wait. No doubt this bloke is one of those who complains bitterly about '***** tourists' holding him up.

You sure he was a tradie ????

Sounds more like a small country town car parts counter attendant to me ..........

Was it about ten in the morning? That's about when the rush is on here and I don't even bother trying to fuel up. It's no problem to go back later on. Tourists do lots of goofy things but if you don't have the patience to deal with it then it's time to go back to where being impatient is expected . . . like Victoria and NSW, by the sounds of it!

One thing I have noticed as a Series Landy Driver, is even though you travel at much slower speeds, as well as in large groups, you don't suffer any of the angst from other road users as the other groups. You mainly get a smile and a wave as they overtake.

Maybe it is because people either know, or don't expect you to be able to do the posted limit, so they don't seem to get annoyed. In fact, quite the opposite.

I can also tell you, driving a series landy as a daily driver, does wonders for your stress levels. You are forced to take things more slowly and consequently suffer far less stress as you are not rushing all the time. Peak hour is relaxing, getting to and from work becomes an adventure, not a chore, and travelling slower, you don't get held up by Grey Nomads and slow drivers

so even less stress.

Same as leaving big gaps in traffic jams and crwling in first gear, instead of the gas and stop technique most employ. Watch Semi's and you will get what I mean.

Try it all. You will be amazed.
